The Georgia Chamber and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Launch the Chamber SMART Plan
As small businesses search for cost-saving health coverage options, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce seeks to solve this problem by offering a new solution that can lead to more rate stability and offers potential savings for groups with 50 or fewer employees.
In a recent announcement, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) launched its partnership with The Georgia Chamber to administer the Georgia Chamber SMART Plan (SMART). Anthem shared that this plan is designed to unite employers, allowing them to share in the overall claims risk. By being part of a larger, self-funded pool, employers have financial protection backed by Anthem. These plans are designed to provide Small Employer Groups with a great selection of more affordable plans.
In addition to financial protection, Anthem shared that these plans offer:
- Competitive rates
- Predictable, fixed monthly payments
- Flexibility in choice of benefit plans
- Anthem’s broad Open Access POS network and Essential Rx formulary
Additionally, Anthem offers specialty products at discounted rates to employers participating in the Georgia Chamber SMART plan. The products include dental, vision, life, optional life and disability plans.
Small employers with between 2 and 50 employees working full time are eligible to participate in this plan offering. Employers will have to be affiliated with a Chamber Association. This can be The Georgia Chamber, or any Chamber Organization.
Plans are available for quoting now, with a January 1st effective date. Contact your Northwestern Benefit Consultant for more information on these plans.
